One million dirhams for the champions of the President's Cup for Jiu-Jitsu. And the start is Friday

The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation announced the completion of preparations for the start of the President's Cup Jiu-Jitsu Championship next Friday, in the competitions for boys and girls under 14 years, and juniors and juniors under 16 years, at Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.

Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, Secretary General of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, said: "During the next few days of the holy month, we are preparing to welcome the launch of the President's Cup in its new form, which is the most expensive tournament on the local scene, and which enjoys an exceptional place in the Federation's agenda and is of great interest to the Jiu-Jitsu community and fans in general."

He continued: "The President's Cup Jiu-Jitsu Championship has witnessed great developments in the past years, and has been keen to achieve qualitative leaps in terms of competition rates and quality of performance year after year. Based on the importance of the tournament as a basic base for new and emerging talents, the organizing committee decided to add the U-14 category to the competitions in a step that reflects the keenness to ensure the largest representation of male and female players, and to focus mainly on young age groups, in line with the Federation's strategy to detect talents capable of representing national teams and maintaining the march of continental and international achievements."

Al Shamsi praised the prominent role of clubs and academies in the success of the tournament and their remarkable turnout to involve the largest number of their players in the competitions, stressing that it carries great importance in terms of enhancing the readiness of players and better preparation to represent the country in various arenas.

This year's tournament includes 4 different categories: boys and girls under 14 years old, juniors under 16 years old, young men and women under 18 years old, and men and women over 18 years old.

The preliminary competitions for the President's Cup for the U-14 and U-16 categories will begin on Friday 7 April, followed by the U-18 category on Saturday 8 April, and the preliminary competitions for the U-18 Senior Battles will conclude on Sunday 9 April.

Al Ain Club won the title of the last edition in the U-16 category, while Baniyas Club was able to win the titles of the U-18 and U-18 Juniors.

In the U-16 category, Palms Sports Academy (Team 777) won the title, Sharjah Self-Defense Sports Club won the title of the U-18 youth category, and in the U-18 category, Baniyas Club won the title.
