Max Verstappen won the Formula 1 Australian GP ahead of Lewis Hamilton's Mercedes and Fernando Alonso's Aston Martin at the end of a daring race, characterized by three red flags and a parade finish on the last lap behind the safety car. Race to forget for Ferrari: Charles Leclerc went out at the first corner after a contact with Lance Stroll, Carlos Sainz received a 5-second penalty at the end of the race on the last restart, for causing an accident with Fernando Alonso, a sanction that made him slip out of the top ten. Lance Stroll rises to fourth place with the other Aston Martin, fifth Sergio Perez with the other Red Bull. This was Verstappen's first win at the Melbourne circuit.
