The Board of Directors of the UAE Football Association extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, for receiving the UAE refereeing staff who participated in the management of the matches of the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

This came during the meeting of the Board of Directors of the Federation, which was held today under the chairmanship of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Federation and in the presence of the members, where the items on the agenda were discussed, which included reports and recommendations submitted by various committees, including national teams, technical affairs, competitions and referees.
Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the UAE Football Association, praised the support of His Highness the President of the UAE for sports and athletes, stressing that His Highness' interest in various games put UAE sports on the global map, pointing out that this generous support and continuous interest motivates athletes to exert maximum efforts in order to raise the flag of the country in all sports forums.
The President of the Federation pointed out that the reception of His Highness the President of the UAE to the UAE refereeing team who managed matches in the World Cup - Qatar 2022, is an unparalleled honor, and it is an incentive for all athletes, not only for stadium judges, stressing that His Highness's directives are a guide to work for the sports sector.
"The UAE football family is grateful for this generous support and the wise guidance of His Highness, and we can only pledge to His Highness to exert more effort in order to develop our work and move UAE football to better ranks," said the President of the Federation.
During the meeting, the Board of Directors reviewed the reports of the gatherings and camps of our national teams that were held in March, whether the first national team, which played two international friendly matches against Tajikistan and Thailand, and the Olympic team, which participated in the international friendly tournament for U-23 teams in Doha, as well as the youth team, which participated in the Dubai International Friendly Championship under 20 years.
The participation of our national beach soccer team in the Asian Cup finals held in Thailand in which our team ranked fourth was also praised, as the Board of Directors called for the need for proper preparation for the team in preparation for the World Cup to be hosted by the country next November.
In accordance with the strategy and requirements of the work plan and after reviewing the best practices, the Board of Directors decided to transfer the files of all our national teams to the Department of National Teams and Technical Affairs so that the administration is responsible for all plans, programs and initiatives in coordination with the General Secretariat and the Board of Directors directly, and to thank the Chairman and members of the National Teams Committee for their efforts during the last period.
During the meeting, it was also approved to hold the end of the football season ceremony and the awards of first, second and third division club competitions and the Sunni stages in accordance with the standards approved by the Competitions Committee, after the end of the last round of the first division league competition, while the initial form of the first team competitions for first, second and third division clubs and the age stages for the next sports season 2023-2024 was reviewed, provided that workshops will be held with clubs and specialists during the coming period to study the shape of the championships in their final form and raise them Again for approval by the Board of Directors.
The Council approved the results of the participants in the new referees course held last February, which amounted to 48 new referees, to join the arbitration corps after passing the theoretical and practical tests.
