The rugby player Baptiste Lafond, who plays at SU Agen (ProD2), was indicted for rape and imprisoned, we learned Thursday from the Bayonne prosecutor's office, confirming information from the daily Sud-Ouest. The 24-year-old player was "indicted on March 24 for rape and placed in pre-trial detention after the opening of a judicial investigation," the prosecutor's office said.

According to Sud-Ouest, the facts would have occurred in May 2022 in Bayonne, on the evening of his last match with Rouen, his previous club. Baptiste Lafond is the son of another rugby player, Jean-Baptiste Lafond (61), who has 37 caps with the XV de France and a title of champion of France conquered with the Racing Club de France in 1990.
