Lee Hae-in, who broke his personal best in the
short program, once again soared in the free skate yesterday (24th).

After neatly running the first jump double axel-triple toeloop, Lee was ruled out of rotation on the second connecting jump, but added extra points in all the remaining jumps, including the last three jumps.

With confident gestures, he performed the step act.

After finishing perfectly until the final spin, Lee Hae-in clenched his fists in cheers and responded to the crowd's cheers by drawing hearts over his head.

Lee Hae-in, who again broke his own best with a total score of 220.94, finished second behind Japan's Kaori.

It is the first time in 2 years that a South Korean figure skater has won a medal at the World Championships since Yuna Kim, who won gold in 2013.

Lee Hae-in, who was at his best at the World Championships after a dramatic comeback victory at the Four Continents Championships last month, smirked brightly as he draped the flag over his shoulder.

[Lee Hae-in/Figure Skating National: I didn't even expect to win a medal at this World Championship, and it is such an honor that I will win a medal for the first time in 10 years after my sister and I will have to work harder in the future.]

Cha Jun-hwan, who finished third with a clean performance in the ---
short program, will attempt tonight to become the first Korean male athlete to win a world championship medal.
