The Saudi Al Nasr player played in Portugal's starting line-up to become the most capped player at the national level with 197 international matches, surpassing Kuwait's Bader Al-Mutawa, who has 196 matches.

The "Madeira Rocket" played 197 games for Portugal, while Ronaldo is the most goalscoring player at the international level with 120 goals, followed by Iranian Ali Daei with 109 goals.
