Jiu-Jitsu Fights at Nad Al Sheba Tonight with "New Edition"

This evening, the Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held as part of the activities of the tenth edition of the "Nad Al Sheba Sports Tournament", which began yesterday and will continue until April 10 under the slogan "Limitless Capabilities", and includes eight sports: padel, volleyball, jiu-jitsu, bow and arrow, fencing, wheelchair basketball, bicycle racing, and running race.

The Jiu-Jitsu Championship will be held in the main hall of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, and participants will compete in five different categories, namely the men's category (18 years and above) with blue, purple, brown and black belts for weights from 62 to 100 kilograms, and the masters category (30 years and above) with blue, purple, brown and black belts for weights from 62 to 100 kilograms.

It also includes the women's category (18 years and above) of the blue, purple, brown and black belt holders for weights from 55 to 85 kg, juniors (16 to 17 years) who hold the blue and purple belt for weights from 52 to 85 kg, and juniors (16 - 17 years) who hold the blue and purple belt for weights from 44 to 75 kg.

The Jiu-Jitsu Championship in the Nad Al Sheba tournament will witness the "last version" of the International Federation of the game law in the arbitration and management of all matches of the tournament, and the competitions are organized by lottery with a knockout system, under the supervision of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Jiu-Jitsu Federation, Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, said that «the Nad Al Sheba tournament is gaining great importance in terms of the growing number of participants due to the annual diversity witnessed by the tournament at the level of some games, which have become of interest and follow-up to large segments of society, whether residents or expatriates».

He added: "The Nad Al Sheba tournament is one of the most prominent sporting events held during the holy month, and attracts a wide segment of society in all its spectrum, seeking to maintain sports activity during the holy month, and high rates of fitness and readiness to compete in various events."

Al Shamsi pointed out: "The levels of demand to participate in the Jiu-Jitsu Championship are distinguished as usual, and we closed the registration door a week ago in light of the participation that will be special, especially since the tournament represents a good opportunity for players to enhance their experience and hone their skills, as it brings together a group of professional players ranked globally."

Jiu-Jitsu is one of the most popular sports in the UAE, and the capital Abu Dhabi is a global home to the game, and the largest developer in the world, and since the announcement of the start of the tournament, there has been a high demand for registration by players from clubs and academies of different nationalities and weight groups. The Padel Championship kicked off yesterday evening and will continue until the ninth of April, with the bow and arrow championship competitions to be held in the main hall of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex on March 26 and 27 in the main hall of the Nad Al Sheba Sports Complex, followed by the fencing championship competitions that will be held on March 28 and 29 in the main hall, and cycling competitions will be held on Meydan Street and various areas of Mohammed Bin Rashid City on Thursday and Friday 30 and 31 March.
