UAE beach team qualifies for AFC Asian Cup quarter-finals

The UAE beach soccer team achieved its second consecutive victory in the Asian Cup, after defeating Malaysia (5-3), on Saturday, at the Jamtim Arena in the Thai city of Pattaya.

The goals of the UAE national team were scored by Ali Al-Mohammadi "two goals", Ahmed Bishr, Walid Bishr, and Abdullah Abbas

The match was witnessed by Ali Hamad Al-Badwawi, member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association and Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee.

The first round, which was held yesterday, saw the beach soccer Whites beat Uzbekistan (4-0) and Iran beat Malaysia (14-5).

The UAE national team and the Iranian team secured qualification for the quarter-finals of the Asian Championship after reaching the sixth point, while the hopes of the Malaysian and Uzbek teams to qualify faded after losing in the first and second rounds.

The UAE national team will meet Iran on Monday, while Malaysia will face Uzbekistan in the third and final round of the group stage.

The first two teams from each of the four groups will qualify for the quarter-finals, which will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, March 22 and 23, with the semi-finals to be held on March 25, with the final to be held on Sunday, March 26.
