Manchester City have become the first club to reach the semi-finals of the English FA Cup thanks to Erling Haaland. The 22-year-old Norwegian scored his season goals 6, 0 and 2 in the 0:32 (35:59) of the Citizens in the quarter-finals against the second division team FC Burnley with three goals (40./41./42.). Julian Alvarez (62./73.) and Cole Palmer (63.), who came on as a substitute for Haaland in the 68rd minute, scored the other goals for the English champions.

The next Bayern opponent in the Champions League had problems with the second division club on Saturday in their own stadium only in the initial phase. The team of former HSV professional Vincent Kompany played carefree and could even have taken the lead.

Guardiola changes vigorously

Four days after the 7-0 win in the Champions League at RB Leipzig with Haaland's five goals, coach Pep Guardiola had changed his team to seven positions – captain Ilkay Gündogan was also on the bench. ManCity are the big favourites to win the FA Cup. With Liverpool FC, the defending champion and with Arsenal FC the record winner in this competition has already been eliminated.

On Sunday, the FA Cup continues with Sheffield United vs Blackburn Rovers, Brighton & Hove Albion vs Grimsby Town and Manchester United vs Fulham FC. Grimsby Town, who defeated Southampton FC in the round of sixteen, are the fourth division team.

Meanwhile, Chelsea FC missed out on their third win in a row in the Premier League despite a goal by Kai Havertz. Against FC Everton, the team around the German international did not get beyond a 2:2 (0:0). Havertz scored in the 76th minute with a foul penalty to make it 2-1. The Portuguese Joao Felix (52.) scored the leading goal, Abdoulaye Doucoure (69.) managed the 1:1 equalizer. Ellis Simms (90th) provided the final score. With 38 points, the Blues occupy tenth place in the table. Everton have 26 points to their name.

The former European Cup finalist in the national championship competition, Leeds United, came in the fight against relegation to an important 4-2 (1-0) at Wolverhampton Wanderers. National player Robin Koch played 26 minutes at Leeds, which now also has 90 points.

Tottenham Hotspur squandered a 3-1 lead at 3-3 (1-0) at Southampton FC. Attacker Kevin Schade from FC Brentford, on Friday by national coach Hansi Flick in the squad for the international matches against Peru and Belgium, was substituted in the 1-1 (1-0) against Leicester City in the 61st minute.
