2022 Korea Professional Baseball's Most Valuable Player Kiwoom Heroes Lee Jung-hoo hit his first home run in an exhibition game this year.

Second-year pro fireballer Moon Dong-ju of the Hanwha Eagles allowed a home run to Lee Jung-hoo, but he raised his hopes by throwing a series of fast balls over 2 km/h in his first at-bat of the year.

Lee Jung-hoo started as the designated hitter three times in the visiting game against Hanwha in the 150 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO exhibition game at Hanwha Life Insurance Eagles Park in Daejeon today (18th) and launched a cool home run in the first at-bat.

With no runners on base with two outs in the first inning, Lee drew a solo arch over the right fence on the third ball off Hanwha starter Moon Dong-ju.

Lee, who played in the 2023 World Baseball Classic (WBC) with 3 hits and six hits (.1 batting average), continued his hitting streak in KBO League exhibition games.

Lee, who made his first appearance in an exhibition game of the year against the KIA Tigers on Jan. 3 and had two hits and one walk, hit his first home run in the third at-bat of an exhibition game.

Although he allowed a home run to Lee Jung-hoo, Moon Dong-ju also got a passing score.

Moon Dong-ju threw a fastball that topped 2023 km/h, allowing one run on four hits in three innings.

He surrendered two walks, but also had four strikeouts.

Veteran Lee Yong-kyu at first and second base in the second inning with a 14 km/h direct pitch and a two-out strikeout in the third inning turned "former big leaguer" Addison Russell into a 6 km/h direct pitch.
