A week after its historic victory at Twickenham in England (53-10), the XV of France is preparing to play its last match of the VI Nations Tournament 2023 against Wales this Saturday, at the Stade de France. The Blues want to keep the state of mind imposed in England as explained by Gregory Alldritt.

The third line of the XV of France Gregory Alldritt said Wednesday that it was necessary, against Wales on the last day of the Six Nations Tournament, "to put the same intensity as at Twickenham", where the Blues inflicted Saturday to England its heaviest defeat at home. Fabien Galthié's men still have a tiny hope of winning the Tournament.

Reporter: How do you feel after your historic victory in England (53-10)?

Gregory Alldritt: "A win in the tournament is always incredible, and winning at Twickenham adds a special flavour. We are very satisfied, of course, we needed it, but we all said to ourselves that we had to keep our feet on the ground. Our week of training has not changed, we resumed on Monday as usual and we are working even harder ahead of this weekend."

Interviewer: You were criticized quite a bit after the matches against Italy and Ireland, before having a full match in London...

Grégory Alldritt: "I was not very happy with my first two performances indeed and I assumed it. When you're in that position, you tend to make excuses, blame the staff or your teammates, but I've always been taught since I was a kid that this is not the solution. And that instead, you had to put your head down, work hard and do your best to get back to your best. This weekend I was quite happy to get closer to my best level but I think I can do even better and I will continue to work in any case."

Interviewer: Wouldn't the risk on Saturday be to rush too much since the objective to hope to retain your title is to win with the biggest possible points difference?

"The goal is to build our game, our victory, like we did last weekend. We are of course all aware of what we have to do to eventually regain this first place for a few hours, or more we hope. But the goal is to win and especially to put back the same intensity that we put at Twickenham. We have to focus on that rather than the score."
