The hand team of Bahrain's Al-Najma Club put an end to the ambitions of the Sharjah team to win a historic first title for the "King" in the Gulf Cooperation Council Winners' Championship, after the well-deserved victory achieved by Al-Najma (35-25), in a match that brought the two teams together today, in the semi-finals of the tournament currently being held in its 39th edition at Khalifa City Sports Hall in the Bahraini capital, Manama. In the semi-finals, Kuwait defeated Qatar's Al-Arabi 25-21.

Al-Najma players succeeded in extending their control over the course of the Sharjah match, after a first half, which the Bahraini team ended with a seven-goal lead (18-11), before the hosts continued to expand the difference in the second half and end the match in their favor (35-25).

Today, Sharjah will meet Qatar's Al Arabi in the match to determine the third and fourth places, while the Bahraini star will face Kuwait on Friday in the final match and determine the identity of the champion of the 39th edition.
