Dubai Racing Club has revealed a potential list of Group 1 winners from 12 countries to compete for the $25.27 million Dubai World Cup titles, held on March 30 and prized at $5.<> million.

Major General Dr. Mohammed Essa Al Adhab, Board Member and General Manager of Dubai Racing Club, said: "We are very excited by the strength of the horses expected to participate in the Dubai World Cup 2023 evening, as we have horses representing 12 different countries, and we are delighted to welcome horses returning from Hong Kong and Australia after an absence of a few years." It's also great to see heroes returning to defend their titles and make history, as Country Grams seeks to become the second winner of two Dubai World Cup titles. As always, we thank the coaches and owners for supporting the event, and wish everyone well on 25 March.

The Dubai Racing Club statement explained: "The holder of the main leg (Dubai World Cup) for Group 1 horses over 2000,12 meters of sand, the Saudi horse (Country Grammer) is expected to return to defend his title in the $14 million race, sponsored by (Emirates Airline), and (Grammer) leads a group of <> horses likely to participate.

The statement added: "Gramer, trained by Bob Baffert, aspires to become the second horse in the history of the main half to win the title twice in a row, after Godolphin legend Thunder Snow, winner of the 2018 and 2019 editions, but Grammarr faces fierce competition represented by eight competitors from Japan."

The statement continued: «Europe represented in the main half of the horse (Algers) under the supervision of Simon and Ed Crisford, who is the winner deservedly in the first and second rounds of the championship (Al Maktoum Challenge) for the current season, while the local challenge is led by the horse (Salute the Soldier) for the stable of Fawzi Nass.
