Arsenal FC have maintained their five-point lead at the top of the English Premier League table. The Londoners easily prevailed on Sunday at their city rivals FC Fulham 3-0 (3-0) and are thus still five points ahead of pursuers Manchester City. The current champions had won 1-0 at Crystal Palace on Saturday. In third place follows Manchester United, who a week after the 0:7 against Jürgen Klopp's FC Liverpool did not get beyond a 0:0 against FC Southampton.

The team of coach Erik ten Hag is 16 points behind Arsenal, but also one game less. United were outnumbered for almost an hour after former Real Madrid professional Casemiro was shown a red card for foul play after an intervention by the video referee (34th minute). Despite good opportunities, it was not enough for the team around the former Bundesliga professionals Jadon Sancho and Wout Weghorst against the bottom of the table to the hoped-for victory as compensation for the clear 0:7 defeat a week ago.

Arsenal offered at the table eighth Fulham with the national goalkeeper and former Arsenal professional Bernd Leno from the beginning a sovereign performance.

Defender Gabriel (21st), Gabriel Martinelli (26th) and the Norwegian Martin Ödegaard (45.+2) scored the goals for the guests. For the team of coach Mikel Arteta it was the fifth league victory in a row.
