We still can't believe it, a few happy ones later. The Blues signed the largest victory in their history against England, rinsed as never before at Twickenham The biggest gap so far was 25 points, in 1972 at Colombes (37-12) and in 2006 at the Stade de France (31-6). It is also the biggest defeat recorded by the XV de la Rose at home and the third heaviest in its history, behind two defeats in South Africa (58-10) in 2007 and Australia (76-0) in 1998. A feat that the Blues obviously celebrated as it should in their post-match statements, always respectful despite the magnitude of the victory. Fabien Galthié the first, he who took enough rust at Twickenham to have the modest triumph

"We wanted to get THE game out"

"There's a lot of joy, a lot of fun, a lot of emotion. It's moving because we know the game, we've been here a lot... This is our thirty-fourth game and we wanted to come out with such a game. It had been decided. We had to come out with such a match, we wanted to do it. The rain could have disturbed us but, here too, we managed to adapt. Sometimes we got picked up. I remember the All Blacks that led largely here and were raised to finish at 25-25... It was waiting for us, we talked about it and we managed to regain control of the game. It's a perfect day at Twickenham, it's rare. »

"It's on games like this that we will be able to rely so that the team gains confidence," says Thomas Ramos, so brilliant that he finds himself 12 points from the record of points ever scored by a French player in the tournament (68 against 80 to Merceron in 2002). This is perhaps one of our most successful games offensively in recent years. We were a little between two at the beginning of the tournament with the defeat in Ireland. We knew we were capable of better. And I think today we showed the level of this team. We will watch tomorrow (Sunday) carefully the match between Scotland and Ireland. Anything can happen. And even if Ireland win, we are never safe from a surprise next week."

"We don't realize yet"

So we want to answer that if, anyway, given the stratospheric level of the Irish on this tournament, but it does not matter. We must store this victory very preciously in the treasure chest of our memories, and bring it out as many times as it takes to see life with a smile. It is François Cros, who says it, with other words: "We do not yet realize the scope of the thing. Hot, we are very satisfied with the score, the way we played... When it goes down, that's when you're really going to realize the magnitude of the performance. I hope they will talk to me about it again in thirty years: it's not every day that we put fifty points to England, at home... It's an incredible moment. »
