Before the turn of the year, Modo was completely superior in the Hockeyallsvenskan, and for a while led the series with 15 points.

But after 2022 became 2023, the former big team has had a much tougher time, and the series victory has lived dangerously.

Ice discharge during the second half of the period

And for a few minutes of the evening's final round, the team was "only" second in the series, when competitor Björklöven took the lead against Tingsryd early on.

But Modo had a serious ice break about halfway into the first period.

After 12.30, Johan Södergran shot the puck past a Karlskoga player who obscured the goalkeeper, and gave Modo the lead - and thus the series lead.

Get home field advantage in the playoffs

Just 4.35 later, Modo had scored three more goals, and had bids for more.

Thus, right now, everything points to Modo winning the series, and thus getting home advantage throughout the playoffs.

The team that wins the Hockeyallsvenskan playoffs goes up to the SHL.
