While many buyers have denounced prohibitive prices for several weeks, Paris 2024 announced in a press release this Thursday that it had sold a record number of more than three million seats.

A new sales phase should open next Wednesday to sell the remaining seven million tickets.

This is the largest ticket sale ever in France.

Despite their prices considered prohibitive by many Internet users, the places for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games were snapped up during this first sales phase.

According to a press release published on Thursday, the organization announces that 3.25 million tickets have passed in the space of a few weeks.

In detail, climbing and BMX saw the most success with places sold out from day one.

Then come fencing, judo and even breakdancing, which also attracted the crowds.

As far as prices are concerned, Paris 2024 evokes 400,000 tickets sold at 24 euros and nearly 70% of the places left for less than 100 euros.

So far from the hallucinating prices denounced on social networks.

How then can this discrepancy be explained?

A new phase of sales from Wednesday

It is very likely that the most accessible tickets were sold first.

As a reminder, buyers were forced to acquire packs of at least three sessions, mechanically inflating prices.

Nevertheless, nothing is lost for all those who have been showered by the fares who would therefore still not have bought a ticket.

Next Wednesday, a new phase of sales should indeed open.

Latecomers will then have one month to register.

Those drawn will then be able to obtain single tickets from May 11.

There are about seven million left, including the most coveted which will give access to the grand finals.
