48-year-old Diacre had a contract until 2024 but her position has been exposed after several of the French stars recently left the national team.

The French Football Federation has made the decision to fire Diacre as problems within the squad became unsustainable.

Center back Wendie Renard took to social media a couple of weeks ago and said that she will not participate in the World Cup this summer.

“I am far from perfect, but I can no longer stand behind the current system.

It is a sad but necessary day," she wrote at the time.

Just hours later, the attacking duo of Kadidiatou Diani and Marie-Antoinette Katoto came with the same message.

Katoto wrote on Instagram that she does not agree with the management of the French national team or their values, while Diani wrote that she will only return if profound changes are made.

According to Le Parisien, the players' decision was based on a long-standing conflict between some of the players and national team captain Diacre.

RMC Sport stated even then that the situation with Diacre had become increasingly unsustainable.

The WC in Australia and New Zealand will be played from July 20 to August 20.
