Indian Wells is one of the biggest tennis tournaments outside of the Grand Slam.
Among other things, it has received attention recently when Novak Djokovic was stopped because he is not vaccinated against covid-19, and then chose to stand over.
But Rebecca Peterson will participate in the tournament.
She has qualified by defeating American Caroline Dolehide in two straight sets.
The first set was even but Peterson won 7-5.
The second set was even more even, ending 7-6.
Now Peterson will face Marta Kostyuk in the first round of Indian Wells.
The Ukrainian recently won her first WTA title in Austin.
