During the WC in Oberhof, Elvira Öberg caught a cold.
An apparently not too bad cold, but it has left its mark.
The body still does not respond as Elvira wants and now she gives up the idea of being able to win the overall world cup.
- It has taken longer than I had hoped to recover from the little cold considering that I was not very ill.
On Thursday, the World Cup competitions in Östersund start with distance, but when the Swedish team met the press on Thursday morning, it was still uncertain whether Elvira would even start.
"Now it probably won't be"
- The way the body felt last weekend, it makes no sense to run a distance, it's a tough competition.
She remains second in the overall World Cup, 158 points behind leader Julia Simon from France.
- I wanted to come here and fight for the overall World Cup, now it won't be as expected.
You let go of the idea of the total now?
- Yes, but it will be a bit like that considering how it went in Nove Mesto and the miracle form I need to find to bring this back, I don't see it as reasonable, so it will have to be another year.
