Sensation before the Champions League second leg between Eintracht Frankfurt and SSC Napoli: The Italian Ministry of the Interior will issue an order banning the club from Naples from selling tickets to supporters of Eintracht Frankfurt. This was announced by Eintracht this Tuesday on its homepage. Accordingly, the football Bundesliga club was already informed on Monday evening by the European football association UEFA about the plans from Italy, which are to be officially announced this Tuesday morning.

A total of 2700 tickets for the match on 15 March (21.00 in the F.A.Z. live ticker for the Champions League and DAZN) would have been granted to Eintracht according to UEFA regulations, including 2400 in the guest sector. The Frankfurters had assumed that they would be able to pass on these tickets in full to their followers. Among other things, six fan planes had planned those responsible for the trip to the south of Italy.

"This is a unique and first-time event in European club football," commented Eintracht chairman Philipp Reschke on the latest developments. "We don't get tickets for the game because SSC Napoli are not allowed to sell tickets to us." For him, this is a "sad day".

Whether the decision of the Italian Ministry of the Interior is a direct reaction to the incidents at the first leg in Frankfurt in February, was initially unclear. At the first meeting between the two teams in this year's Champions League season, there had been several incidents with the two fan camps of the teams.
