African Champions League: Al Hilal of Sudan renews its victory over Coton Spor

Al Hilal renewed its superiority over Cameroon's Coton Spor 2-<> on Tuesday at the Blue Jewel Stadium in Omdurman, in the opening matches of the fourth round of Group B of the African Champions League.

And raise «Mr. country» tally to 9 points at the top of the group temporarily pending the completion of the round matches meeting Mamelodi Sundowns South Africa (7 points) and Al Ahly Egyptian third (4 points) Saturday, while Coton Spor remained at the bottom of the standings without balance.

Al Hilal stressed the pressure on Al Ahly, who holds the record number of titles in the competition (10 times), ahead of their difficult match against Sundowns in Pretoria, as they will be doomed to victory to maintain their chances of winning one of the two quarter-final cards.

The team of Congolese coach Florent Ebenge made a strong display in the first half, as it dominated almost absolutely, but its threat to the visitors' goal lacked accuracy in ending attacks, while the Cameroonian team relied on rebounds and the brilliance of Sudanese international goalkeeper Ali Abu Ashreen in front of Ibrahim Abba's shot from a direct free kick (41).

Two minutes later, Ghanaian David Abanga opened the scoring for Al-Hilal with a strong shot after a quick attack led by Mohammed Abdul Rahman «Ghorbal» (43).

The changes of coach Abu Bakr Suleimano contributed to improving the level of his team, which abandoned its caution and attacked the Sudanese goal fiercely, and Abu Ashreen saved a rocket shot launched by Abdul Rahman Daman (57), and the Sudanese goalkeeper shone in front of Ibrahim Abba's header (68).

Moroccan referee Radwan Jaid awarded a penalty kick to Al-Hilal in the 82nd minute after substitute John Rubia was obstructed by Basbon Waso, Maccabi Lilibo from the Democratic Republic of Congo and scored successfully, raising his tally to five goals in the continental competition this season.
