THE ESSENTIALS

  • For Olympique Lyonnais, the most important match of the week was clearly its quarter-final of the Coupe de France, won Tuesday against Grenoble (2-1).
  • Now at the gates of the Stade de France, and therefore two successes away from qualifying for the Europa League, Lyon (9th in Ligue 1) will obviously not swing their end of the championship for all that.
  • In the event of victory this Sunday (17:05 on Canal + Foot) against Lorient (8th), OL would overtake the Merlus in the standings and would after all be virtually only five points behind Rennes (5th), which hosts OM at 20:45.
  • Note on the Lyon side the very damaging absences of Anthony Lopes and Alexandre Lacazette, injured as well as Jeffinho, Malo Gusto and Thiago Mendes.

09:00: Hello Minutos!

Hi everyone, we suspect that this OL-Lorient poster, this Sunday (17:05), is a priori not the football appointment you are waiting for with the most passion this week (or even this week for that matter, or even today it must be admitted). But still, we will try to sell you the best this Ligue 1 match which has some assets, despite the combined absences of Alexandre Lacazette and Anthony Lopes (injured) which could cost Lyon dearly. Another downside, the thrill of the winter transfer window Jeffinho will not be part of the game either. But after all, we are talking about teams ranked 9th and 8th who can still aim for a qualification in the Conference Europa League (youhou, we know) since Rennes will be virtually only five points away from the eventual winner of the day. Laurent Blanc's OL cannot afford to bet absolutely everything on the Coupe de France, which could be synonymous if it wants to laugh at the first title in eleven years and qualifying for the Europa League. And don't forget, a football match with the tandem Régis Le Bris (on the bench)-Enzo Le Fée (to feast on the field) can only be intended to make us live a good time, right? Come on, we'll leave you on this note full of optimism and we'll meet in the afternoon live from Parc OL for a match that we imagine is open at will. See you all!
