• The Formula 1 season kicks off on Sunday with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
  • Max Verstappen begins the defence of his world championship title.
  • He will be ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez and Charles Leclerc, winner of this Grand Prix last year, on the starting grid.

This weekend in Bahrain, the F1 World Championship gets off to a flying start. With Max Verstappen already in pole position, ahead of his teammate Sergio Perez who will try to help him, and the two Ferraris in ambush behind them on the starting grid, the fight promises to be (already) intense for this first of the twenty-three Grand Prix of the season.

What time and on which channel to watch the Formula 1 weekend in Bahrain?

"La Grille" will take place at 15:00 (Canal+) and Le Grand Prix de Bahreïn at 16:00 (Canal+) on Sunday, March 5, 2023.

"Formula One, the debrief" will allow to return to the race, at 17:55 (Canal +).

This first Grand Prix will be an opportunity to see the forces involved and in what state the teams arrive.

Starting clap

For this first round of the Formula 1 World Championship, all the ingredients are there to attend a great race.

Surprising in free practice on Saturday, Fernando Alonso set the fastest time in FP2 on Friday and FP3 on Saturday lunchtime. He will be behind the Red Bulls and Ferraris, ambushed on the starting grid.

The Mercedes of Russell and Hamilton will be behind his AMR23. Stroll, injured in his right wrist, will be 8th. Hülkenberg, who is making his return to F1, showed an interesting pace at the wheel of his Haas, climbing into Q3 to clinch 10th place on the grid.

As far as the French are concerned, it's not really joy for Pierre Gasly (Alpine), who came out in Q1. He will start 20th while Esteban Ocon managed to slide into Q3. He will start 9th.

The lights are green, the season can begin, and it's not to displease us!
