The goinfre! Norway's Johannes Boe won the pursuit of the Biathlon World Cup stage in Nove Mesto (Czech Republic) on Saturday, equalling his record for individual wins in a season (16), set in 2018-2019.

Starting in first position after his victory in the sprint on Thursday, Boe edged out his older brother Tarjei and Sweden's Martin Ponsiluoma. France's Fabien Claude and Antonin Guigonnat took fifth and sixth place respectively, deciding in the photo finish.

QFM positive for Covid

After a clean sheet on his two prone shots, Johannes Boe made an error on each of his two standing shots. Without consequence for the 29-year-old Norwegian, imperial since the beginning of the season, in the World Cup as at the Worlds in Oberhof in February (three individual titles, seven medals in total).

After this 16th individual success this season, the three-time World Cup winner will be able to improve his record at the Oestersund stage (Sweden) next weekend and the finals in Oslo in mid-March. Both Covid positive, Norway's Sturla Laegreid, second overall in the World Cup, and France's Quentin Fillon Maillet, fifth, were absent from this race.
