At 9:00 PM on Friday night, the NHL's transfer window closed and there were several clubs looking for reinforcements for the final sprint of the regular season and the approaching Stanley Cup playoffs.

One of them was the Minnesota Wild, who are currently in fourth place in the record-equalling Western Conference.

During the evening, they finished with both Detroit Red Wings Oskar Sundqvist and Anaheim Ducks Swedish star defender John Klingberg.

For Sundqvist, Detroit got a fourth-round pick in the 2023 draft. For Klingberg, Anaheim got 32-year-old Andrej Sustr, 21-year-old college player Nikita Nesterenko and a fourth-round pick in the 2025 draft, but they also keep half of Klingberg's salary against the salary cap.

In other words, there are starting to be plenty of Swedes in Minnesota.

Previously, Filip Gustavsson, Jonas Brodin and Joel Eriksson Ek play in the club and in recent days they have also finished with Marcus Johansson and Gustav Nyqvist.
