Fanny Roos, third in Europe who showed form before the championship with a new year's best of 19.17, didn't get it before the last push.

She didn't get over 18 meters and looked convulsed and frustrated during the race.

- It was a very difficult competition.

It was very difficult.

I just tried to put it but couldn't get it together, she says.

What didn't work?

- It's a bit hectic and a bit too stressful and then I miss it.

It's small margins that make a big difference.

But last is better and that's what I have to be happy with today and the bronze of course.

You spoke to Vesteinn Hafsteinsson (coach) several times during the competition, what did you say to each other?

- It was really the same thing: that it is at the start that I miss and then it follows with the whole impact.

It's just trying to focus on it and trying to put it.

But no pressure 28-year-old Roos.

- You have six attempts and it is the longest that counts.

I just focused on what I had to do.

It means a lot to get a medal, I was last and turned it around.

I will take that with me in the future as well.

The competition was won by the Portuguese Auriol Dongmo who was in a class of his own with a superior 19.76 as the longest stroke.

The silver went to the German Sara Gambetta (18.83).
