UAE national team to face Tajikistan, Thailand in friendly in preparation for Asian finals

The Teams and Technical Affairs Committee of the UAE Football Association announced that the first team will play two friendly matches against Tajikistan and Thailand on March 25 and 28 in the capital, Abu Dhabi, during its internal camp, which will be held during the FIFA days from March 19 to 29, as part of its preparatory program for the upcoming participations, the most important of which are the Asian Cup finals scheduled in Qatar in January 2024, and the qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup.
The national teams committee said in a press release that the list of players participating in this camp will be announced after the end of the matches of round (19) of the ADNOC Professional League competition, which will be played on March 10 and 11.
The National Teams and Technical Affairs Committee held its meeting on Thursday under the chairmanship of Humaid Ahmed Al Tayer, member of the Board of Directors, and part of the meeting was attended by Rodolfo Arruabarrena, coach of the first team.
The committee approved the participation of the Olympic team born in 2001 in the international friendly tournament that will be held in Doha in conjunction with the FIFA days for the month of March, with the participation of eight teams, as part of the preparation program for the qualifiers for the U-23 Asian Cup, which will start next September, and the team is led by Spanish coach Denis Silva.
The committee approved the participation of the youth team born in 2005 in the international friendly tournament under 18 years scheduled in Dubai from 23 to 28 March, with the participation of four teams, namely the UAE, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia and Mexico, and the tournament is preceded by an internal camp starting on March 13, 2023 led by national coach Faisal Al-Taheri.
