In view of the next disappointment, coach Jürgen Klopp has once again announced activities at Liverpool FC after this season. After Saturday's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League, the German coach said: "It's absolutely clear that we have to do something in the summer. At the moment, we just have to get through it."

Three days after the 2-5 home defeat in the first leg of the Champions League round of <> against Real Madrid, the draw in London was another setback for Liverpool in the race to enter Europe's premier class. Klopp showed understanding for possible criticism and disappointment at the performance against Crystal Palace, but also noted: "It looked like we had lost the game – we didn't." His team had bad luck in the game with two crossbar hits.

"There won't be any big films about that"

Klopp also admitted with a view to the performances so far this season: "This will not be the season in the history books, which people want to look at again and again. There won't be any big films about that." The 55-year-old's team now has 21 points less than leaders Arsenal FC

He successfully defended the lead in the Premier League. Due to the 1:0 (0:0) on Saturday at Leicester City, the team of coach Mikel Arteta has 24 points after 57 games. The English football champion and pursuer Manchester City follows with a deficit of two points in one game more with 55 points. The team of coach Pep Guardiola won – including a goal by Erling Haaland – at AFC Bournemouth sovereign 4:1 (3:0).

After a largely uneventful first half, Arsenal refuted the weakness of not being effective enough in front of the opponent's goal. After Leandro Trossard's pass, Brazilian World Cup participant Gabriel Martinelli scored the goal for a 1-0 lead in front of England coach Gareth Southgate immediately after kick-off. With the goal in the 46th minute, Martinelli further nurtured the title hopes of the "Gunners".

Manchester City and the strong captain Ilkay Gündogan had no problems with the table penultimate from Bournemouth after the 1-1 draw at RB Leipzig last Wednesday in the first leg of the Champions League. The former Dortmund Haaland hit the crossbar after 15 minutes, Argentina's world champion Julian Alvarez then brought the ball over the line from close range.

The guests pushed for more goals and were rewarded: Haaland with his 27th league goal of the season (29th minute), Phil Foden (45th) and Chris Mepham (51st/own goal) increased to 4:0. Jefferson Lerma shortened to 1:4 (83rd). Haaland set a record with his goal on Matchday 25: Never before has a City player scored at least 27 goals in a Premier League season, the Norwegian still has 13 games left to further extend the record. Gundogan was on the field for 55 minutes.
