These results of the first Kosovar division have indeed offered bettors, installed both in France and Kosovo, significant winnings on these sports betting, announced Thursday the Specialized Interregional Jurisdiction (JIRS) of Nancy.

"The Central Service of Racing and Gaming (SCCJ) has been investigating for nearly a year facts of sports corruption and organized fraud concerning a football club of the first division in Kosovo," said in a statement the JIRS.


An estimated gain of more than 360,000 euros

The latter did not specify which club was concerned, but "the analysis of the odds and video recordings of several matches made it possible to confirm the manipulation of the score of some of them," she said. The investigation traced "members of an extended family circle settled in both France and Kosovo", suspected of having participated "in the manipulation of the results of certain matches in order to guarantee significant winnings when betting on the results of these matches, known in advance".

Thus, on the four meetings targeted, the JIRS evokes an estimated gain of more than 360,000 euros. Nine people were taken into custody. Four men aged between 24 and 50, from Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) and Dijon, were then indicted on charges of organized fraud and criminal association. The Kosovo First Division Championship, the "Superliga", consists of ten teams. The defending champions FC Ballkani, based in the southern city of Suva Reka.
