Stade Rennais, winner at home after extra time in the play-off second leg of the Europa League round of 16 against Shakhtar Donetsk (2-1) on Thursday, was eliminated at the end of the penalty shootout, lost 5-4 .
Beaten in the first leg 2-1 by the Ukrainian club, the Rennais scored thanks to their Cameroonian striker Karl Toko Ekambi in the 52nd minute and their Moroccan winger Ibrahim Salah in the 106th minute but defender Jeanuël Belocian scored a goal against his side in the 119th minute.
