Pitcher Tomohisa Ozeki will be the opening pitcher for the first time this season in his fourth year in professional baseball and Softbank, who underwent surgery for testicular cancer last year.

Ozeki, a southpaw from training, is 25 years old and is in his fourth year.



After undergoing surgery for testicular cancer in early August last year, he returned to the 1st Army in late September last year and recorded a record of 7 wins and 6 losses.



Softbank's Hiroshi Fujimoto announced on the 21st that pitcher Ozeki will serve as the opening pitcher at the Miyazaki campsite.



Director Fujimoto said, "He is in the best condition among the current starting pitchers."



Softbank will play against Lotte, which will be led by new manager Rihito Yoshii, in the opening match at PayPay Dome on the 31st of next month.
