The first WC day in Planica has the potential to be a big Swedish medal party.

Above all on the women's side, Sweden has some of the strongest sprinters in the world.

On the men's side, you don't come up with as big names - but Calle Halfvarsson believes in a Swedish medal.

- We have a super good team, everyone is in good shape, he tells SVT Sport.

- I have trained with Johan (Häggström) in Toblach and he looked good in training.

Edvin (Anger) and Grate have also looked good.

All four of us go into this championship strong.

"I'm really excited"

Halfvarsson lacks an individual WC medal but has so far shown good form this year.

The 33-year-old has been on the podium in two World Cup sprint events this season, while Anger is fifth in the Sprint Cup.

Do you have a better team than in a long time?

- I think so, all four are really good at it and can do it really well, he says.

The championship runs until Sunday, March 5.
