The Senol Günes stadium in Trabzon experienced an intense moment of emotion on Thursday evening, when hosting the first leg of the Europa League Conference play-off, between Trabzonspor and the Swiss FC Basel (1-0). When the two teams entered the pitch, Turkish fans unfurled a large tifo in tribute to the victims of the earthquake that occurred on February 6, which killed more than 41,000 people, according to a still provisional assessment, in the southeast of the country and Syria.

It showed a baby rescued by a rescuer, whose helmet bears multiple flags in reference to international solidarity after this disaster. The message "Thank you" appears on the armband of the rescuer, flanked by a German shepherd responsible for locating the missing in the rubble. Behind the tifo, a large banner announced: "We will always be together, we will heal our wounds".

After the only goal of the match, scored by Denmark's Jens Stryger Larsen, Trabzonspor players gathered and waved a Turkish flag, again in solidarity with the victims of the disaster.
