Suspicious details in Barcelona's bribery of Spanish arbitration

Suspicious details have come to light in Barcelona's bribery case of former vice-president of the Referees Committee, José Maria Enriquez Negreira, who currently occupies the European sports street.

Spanish newspaper El Mundo blew new surprises in the case, as the bribe amount rose to 6,659,448 euros, excluding VAT since 2001.

The newspaper said that Nigerera had addressed Barcelona President Josep Bartomeu in 2018 and threatened to disclose all irregularities after his access to funds justified as for refereeing advice was stopped!

The newspaper explained that Negreira told the president of Barcelona at the time: "If there is no agreement, all the irregularities of the club that occurred will appear without consideration, I do not think that another scandal will benefit you."

While Barcelona defended its position that it previously had a contract with an external provider of technical reports related to refereeing, La Liga president Javier Tebas stressed that Barcelona cannot be sanctioned in a sporting sense because of the passage of five years since the facts.

The disturbing news for Barcelona fans comes in a season that has seen similar cases of Serie A, administrative errors and financial irregularities that led to strict penalties against Juventus Club by deducting 25 points from its current balance, in which the public compares the strength of the Italian League regulations and soft regulations in Spain!.
