Laba leads Al Ain to the league runners-up after a tough win over Kalba
Al Ain snatched a tough win today from Kalba in the 17th round of the ADNOC Professional League, reaching the 34th point after winning 2-3, and benefiting from Sharjah's 1-0 loss to Khorfakkan, making Al Ain second on goal difference from Sharjah despite being equal in points.
Al Ain opened the score in the 21st minute after Caio took advantage of a defensive error by Kalba players. Kalba succeeded in scoring the equalizer through Habib Al-Fardan, who shot a ball and reached him from a corner kick with his head to the 47th goal.
Kalba almost scored another goal if not Leandro's shot over the crossbar in the 67th minute. Al Ain scored its second goal through Sofiane Rahimi with a ball on the fly invested in the 81st minute, and Kalba returned through a penalty kick that equalized the result and was executed by Sisaldo in the 90+4 minute. But Laba Kadjo led Al Ain to victory with a goal in the last minute (90+8) with a perfect shot.
