Solna figure skating has been repeatedly accused of unhealthy leadership and harmful training methods.

Riders have raised the alarm in the media about seriousness, violations and abuse.

A year ago, the Swedish Figure Skating Association made several demands on the club to address the problems.

An important point on the action list: that an extra adult, a skating representative, must be present during the training sessions.

The assignment was to "look out for the best interests of the children and not have any connection or alliance with the coaches".

If Solna Figure Skating did not meet the requirement, the figure skating association could consider withdrawing the elite license.

But when Task Review visits the ice rink, there is no skater on the ice.

There is only the head coach in Solna figure skating and national team skaters.

Solna Figure Skating: "It works great"

It turns out that the head coach, together with a colleague, has managed to stop the skating representative from his training.

Despite the fact that the requirement also applied to skiers at elite and advanced level.

The coach has threatened to resign as coach otherwise, according to the club board's minutes.

- We have had a process when we have worked with skaters' representatives and all other action proposals where we have discussed with skaters, parents, coaches and federations.

And then we arrived at the way we work now.

We have not received any indication that it is not working.

It works great, says Hanna Karlsson, chairman of Solna Figure Skating.

According to the figure skating association's president Helena Rosén Andersson, they have not let go of the demand.

But just like Hanna Karlsson, she believes that it is not possible to have skaters' representatives at all training sessions.

"Safe sports environments are of the highest priority.

The requirement for a skating representative on the ice has not been released.

On the contrary, it is still an important action, both on and off the ice, all according to the action plan that has been drawn up.

But as we previously commented, we as a confederation today have no requirement for any association to have a skating representative on the ice during all hours of operation," she writes in an email.
