An earthquake measuring 4.7 on the Richter scale hit the city of Zahedan, the center of Sistan and Baluchestan province in eastern Iran.

The Iranian news agency IRNA quoted the head of the Khatam al-Anbia hospital in the city of Zahedan, Mohammad Reza Moradi, as saying in a statement that the tremor, which was centered at a depth of 10 kilometers, led to the injury of 25 people who were transferred to the hospital by emergency forces.

An earthquake measuring 4.3 on the Richter scale yesterday hit the Sarkaz Ahmadi area in Iran's southern Hormozgan province, with no information on injuries or damage.
