Russia, the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka is unreachable because under Ukrainian bombing

The governor of the Russian region of Belgorod, Vyacheslav Gladkov, says that the village of Novaya Tavolzhanka is unreachable because it is under Ukrainian bombardment.

"Today we can't reach the village. According to local authorities, 100 people remained. It is impossible to verify this data because of the continuous bombardment. As soon as the situation changes, we will try to convince people to leave the village," Gladkov was quoted as saying by Tass.
Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said two saboteur groups tried to infiltrate the area near the village, but were pushed back by Russian forces. At the border with Ukraine, Novaya Tavolzhanka is one of the largest villages in the Shebekino district. The "Russian Volunteer Corps", one of the pro-Ukrainian formations operating in Russian territory, released a video in which it says it has taken control of this village.
In the clashes, they say, a Russian colonel, Andrey Stesev, was killed.

Zelensky thanks his troops for progress in Bakhmut

Ukrainian President Zelensky thanked his troops for territorial gains near the devastated town of Bakhmut in the east of the country, mocking what he called Moscow's "hysterical" reaction and Russian assurances that it had repelled large-scale Ukrainian attacks.

"We see to what extent Russia will react hysterically to our every advance in this area, to our every stance. The enemy knows that Ukraine will win," Zelensky said in the usual evening video message.

Foreign Minister Tajani: "The Vatican is right to foster dialogue"

"It is a positive initiative, the Vatican is right to try to foster dialogue between Ukraine and Russia: we will see how the Russians react to this trip."
This was stated by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Antonio Tajani, to Tg2 Post. "We are absolutely in favor of finding an agreement, but the peace agreement can only be an agreement that brings respect for international law, that is, the withdrawal of Russian troops from where they left", he explains.

"All attempts, however, are positive, the Vatican is right to play this role and the Pope is right to send his special envoy," Tajani concludes.
