Crucial political day in Montecitorio. The Public Administration decree, with the rule that excludes the concomitant control of the Court of Auditors on the implementation of the PNRR, arrives in the Chamber of Deputies. The Government would be ready to put the question of confidence on the text. The process should be completed by Wednesday and - since the decree expires on June 21 - the path in the Senate should also be armored.

"We believe that if confidence is asked for on the PA decree it will certainly be granted because it is a measure that Italy needs. As for the rule on the Court of Auditors, if we want the PNR to be able to go to fruition and that is to conclude the work by June 2026, we do not need intermediate controls, but final ones", cuts short Tommaso Foti, leader of the Brothers of Italy group in the Chamber, who brands as "an invasion of the field" the criticisms coming from the European Commission on the role of the Court of Auditors.

The oppositions are divided: if Action and IV do not see "coups" in the cancellation of the concomitant control of the accounting magistrates on the PNRR, the Pd and AVS are on a war footing: "We will give battle, on the Court of Auditors the Government is forcing", assure the dems. "It is inconceivable that even on this occasion the government can escape a democratic discussion, we want to expose our firm reasons against a decree that gags the Court of Auditors but we expect that already at 14 pm, as it seems, the government can pose the question of confidence closing any space for confrontation", explains Filiberto Zaratti, leader of the Green Alliance and Left in the Constitutional Affairs Committee of the Chamber. Even the M5S is preparing for the tug of war: "Let's see what happens, we will fight in the classroom. It is something serious", assure the pentastellati, ready to request more space for comparison.
