"The Lilliputians are joining forces to speak at the same level as the giant," says Christophe Lèguevaques, who represents angry Renault customers. Some 1,782 people constituted, to date, in class action will file a criminal complaint against Renault Group and Nissan, before the criminal court of Nanterre (Hauts-de-Seine), this Monday, June 5, announces Le Parisien. Other victims will be able to become civil parties "as soon as an investigating judge has been appointed," says the lawyer.

Several thousand motorists consider themselves victims of a defective petrol engine (1.2 l) that equipped between 2012 and 2018 many models of the Renault, Nissan and Dacia brands: Renault Captur, Clio IV, Kadjar, Mégane 3, Scénic 3; Dacia Duster, Lodgy; Nissan Juke, Qashqai... The problem they denounce is characterized by abnormal oil consumption and premature engine breakage. While the manufacturer handles incidents "on a case-by-case basis", unhappy customers have decided to unite.

The complaint will be filed in particular for "aggravated deception, misleading commercial practices", "fraud, destruction, damage and deterioration dangerous for people, endangering the lives of others," says Le Parisien.
