In favor of market share, Tesla is currently foregoing profit - and thus follows the playbook of many platform companies. This does not fit in with the times, but in view of the ever-increasing competition from China such as BYD or Nio, this strategy still seems better than accepting eroding market shares, as the German manufacturers are currently experiencing in China's electric car market.

However, Tesla is now challenged to bring new models to market, as Ford CEO Jim Farley also emphasizes. Production of the Cybertruck, which has been postponed several times, is scheduled to begin this summer. The car could meet with many buyers, especially in the USA, but will probably also be sold in Europe.
