Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto said that his country considers the training of the Ukrainian army under the banner of NATO unacceptable, saying that the alliance must avoid direct clash with Russia.

Szijjarto was quoted by the Novosti news agency as saying after the meeting of foreign ministers of NATO countries in Oslo today: It is necessary to avoid conflict between NATO and Russia, so Hungary does not support military training of Ukrainian soldiers under the NATO flag.

US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin announced a week ago that Denmark and the Netherlands will lead a European coalition to train the Kiev regime forces to fly F-16 fighters, expressing hope that training of Ukrainian pilots will begin in the coming weeks.

On the other hand, Szijjarto stressed that the issue of Ukraine's accession to NATO should not be discussed at the next NATO summit in July, and said: The accession of a belligerent state to NATO cannot appear on the agenda, I think there is agreement in the closed circle that a belligerent state cannot be accepted.

"We can prevaricate and try to convince the Ukrainians that they will get some kind of timetable to join NATO at the summit, but that would be dishonest towards the Ukrainians. It is not permissible to create illusions that are clearly impossible to achieve.
