Abu Dhabi Police warns of fraudulent website links

Abu Dhabi Police has warned of fraudulent calls and links to fraudulent electronic sites via SMS messages that simulate government institutions, phishing the public, and providing them with fake services and inducements with advantages to cooperate with government agencies through their websites or e-mail.

She pointed to the renewal of fraudsters and swindlers' deceptive methods, and luring victims in misleading ways, under which they are defrauded after obtaining information related to their bank accounts and reusing that data again, allowing withdrawals of financial balances.

She appealed to avoid clicking on links and not to share your confidential information with anyone, whether your account or card information, online banking passwords, ATM PINs, security number (CCV) or password, and that bank employees will never ask you for this information.

Abu Dhabi Police called on the public in the event of a fraud to go to the nearest police station and quickly report any calls received by unknown persons asking them to update their bank data, by contacting the Aman service number 8002626 or by sending a text message 2828 to enhance the police's efforts in confronting these fraudulent methods and protecting the community from their dangers.

She called for activating protection programs to ensure the efficient disposal of harmful websites that contain electronic codes aimed at robbing them of their savings, and not to be led by fake temptations.
