In recognition of his cultural experience and his giving as an educator, human being and researcher who contributed to providing the Arab library with intellectual and literary achievements in travel literature and folklore, the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Sweida organized today an honorary seminar entitled "Qasim Wahb in Memory" with the participation of a crowd of writers, writers and those interested.

The head of the branch of the Arab Writers Union in Suwayda, the writer Wijdan Abu Mahmoud, pointed out that the researcher and educator Qassem Wahb, who was absent from death several years ago, left a lasting impact and a good memory, and was passionate about reading, research, investigation and authorship, and a trustee of the heritage of Jabal al-Arab, its words and the tales of its people, confronting vulgarity and free literary abuses with all the arguments that came from the machine.

During the seminar, the writer and researcher Ismail Al-Mulhim shed light on various aspects of the personality and experience of the late as an educator and a social face at a high level of nobility, good morals and selflessness.

Researcher and translator Ziad Al-Awda pointed to the emotional relationship that united the late with his comrades and others, as he had values and spaces with the other, whoever he was, away from fanaticism, disagreement and divergence of visions and positions.

The translator Nabil Abu Saab gave a testimony of the late Wahb as one of his students in the late sixties of the last century, pointing to the information, values, impact and motivation he instilled in them through his proximity to them, thanks to his personality, style, devotion to his knowledge, work and the interest of his students, and his keenness to teach them the art of recitation and encourage them to display what their pens write as an expression of their dreams and wishes.

The brother of the late engineer and translator Yasser Wahb spoke about his brother's career and his interest in life and his struggle and giving in it, so he was a brother, support and role model for him and others, expressing thanks and appreciation to the branch of the Writers Union for this initiative towards a figure that has become public and not only local, but also Syrian and Arab for its literary and cultural effort in several fields.

The researcher Qasim Wahb, born in the village of Anz in Suwayda Governorate in 1941-2019, obtained a degree in Arabic language in 1967, and joined the education corps in Suwayda high schools, the Teacher Training Institute and the College of Education in it, in addition to teaching in schools in the UAE and Libya, and worked in the project of going to horizons and travel literature in Abu Dhabi, and participated in most of his seminars in many Arab capitals, and presented fourteen works in travel literature, of which eight works were printed, and won the Ibn Battuta Award for his work ( Prince Fakhr al-Din al-Ma'ani's trip to Italy), and completed several works monitoring the effects of Jabal al-Arab's rich environment and the rich popular life, and worked as an arbitrator in more than one session at the Mazraa Festival for Literary and Artistic Creativity in Suwayda under the supervision of the Ministry of Culture.
