Turkish state firm plans to sell 319 purebred Arabian racing colts

An institution of Turkey's Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, which raises a large number of racing foals, is set to auction 319 purebred Arabian ponies at auction next Tuesday, June 6.

According to the Turkish newspaper "Daily News", the General Directorate of Agricultural Projects of Turkey (TİGEM) breeds many horses of the future in the branches of Bursa Karakapi, Malatya Sultansoyu and Eskişehir Anatolia.

An average of 360 foals are born annually in these three establishments where horses are raised.

Horse sales this year from the Directorate General of Agricultural Projects, which breeds a large number of horses that take place on the racetracks in Turkey, will begin on June 6, where a total of 68 purebred Arabian racehorses, 32 females and 36 males, will be auctioned to the equestrian community, where the horses will be sold at the Karkabi Bursa agricultural project.

Auctions will continue in July, September and October as well.

The Directorate General, which plans to sell a total of 319 purebred Arabian pony this year, has earned nearly 64 million Turkish liras from the sale of 265 pony in 2022.
