In recognition of his giving and artistic and creative career, the Directorate of Culture in Sweida, in cooperation with the branches of the Union of Plastic Artists in the governorate and the Artists Syndicate in the southern region, organized this evening a ceremony in honor of the late plastic artist and sculptor Fouad Naim, at the Palace of Culture Theater in Sweida.

The Director of Culture in As-Suwayda, Laila Abu Fakhr, pointed out in a speech that the late artist was a loving artistic figure and was able to transform his chisel and carving tools into communication tools, and formed a unique special identity, indicating that the honoring ceremony for him comes from the importance of art and artists in the lives of peoples, and in line with the objectives of the Ministry of Culture in sponsoring art and creativity.

In turn, the head of the branch of the Union of Fine Artists in Suwayda, artist Hamad Azzam, pointed out that the ceremony comes as a celebration and honor of artistic and creative stature and an icon of sculpture.

Plastic artist Talal Al-Abdullah gave a critical reading of the late artist's works, noting that he had a rich artistic experience, realized the position of mass in space and confronted the embodiment of difficult motor situations.

The wife of the late artist, plastic artist Nadia Naim, expressed her appreciation for this generous gesture, pointing out that the artist Naim was a unique artistic phenomenon and loved his country, its people, its trees and stones, and was faithful to it and its cultural heritage.

The ceremony included the screening of a documentary film entitled "The Sculptor of Imagination" written by the poet Mansour Harb Henedy and commented and directed by the artist Maan Doueir, in addition to the presentation of a theatrical scene entitled "Wafa" presented by the Directorate of Culture for Dramatic Arts troupe in tribute to the spirit of the late artist Naim, written by the poet Mansour Harb Henedy and directed by the artist Mustafa Hammad.

The late artist was born in Suwayda in 1955 and a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts, University of Damascus in 1980, and a former teacher at the Second Faculty of Fine Arts in Suwayda and a lecturer at the Faculty of Education and a member of the Union of Plastic Artists in Suwayda, and was the head of the school theater department, and a member of the National Theater and the Beautification Committee of the city of Suwayda and completed more than 100 sculptural works and designed a décor for about 25 theatrical works, some of which won awards and presented a lot of artwork within the art of caricature, and has many individual exhibitions in sculpture He drew the cartoon in Suwayda and Damascus before dying on the twenty-fourth of last March at the age of 68 after suffering from illness.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the Governor of Suwayda, Engineer Bassam Parsik, and a crowd of artistic, cultural and civil events.
