Iran and the Sultanate of Oman announced an agreement to organize a strategic cooperation document between the two countries in various fields, and stressed the role of the private sector in enhancing the horizon of economic cooperation and increasing trade exchange between them.

In a joint Iranian-Omani statement issued today at the end of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq's visit to Tehran, the two sides expressed their satisfaction with the high level of bilateral relations between the two countries, noting their increasing growth, especially after the recent visit of Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, which took place at the invitation of Sultan Haitham last year.

The two sides expressed their keenness to further expand relations in the future, supported joint committees and working groups, and exchanged visits in various fields to pursue the development of relations.

Within the framework of strengthening relations between the two countries and laying the foundations for maintaining their sustainability, the leaders of the two countries directed their governments to work to reach and sign a strategic cooperation document between the two countries in various fields that enhance joint cooperation and mutual benefits.

According to the statement, the Sultan of Oman and the Iranian President exchanged their views on a number of regional and international issues of common interest, and stressed the importance of continuing efforts and good offices in the various security, political, economic and cultural fields to consolidate the foundations of peace and stability in the region, and welcomed the continuation of political talks and consultations between the two countries.

The two sides also welcomed the consolidation of the culture of dialogue in the region to settle outstanding issues and strengthen relations between neighboring countries in order to achieve the peace and prosperity to which all peoples of the region aspire.

The Iranian president expressed his great appreciation for the efforts of Sultan Haitham bin Tariq for the wise approach and constructive policies on the regional and international arenas, which contribute to achieving stability in the region.

For his part, the Sultan of Oman expressed his great appreciation for the policy of good neighborliness pursued by the thirteenth Iranian government, and considered rapprochement and cooperation among the countries of the region an important factor for consolidating security, stability and peace in the region.
