Occupied Jerusalem-SANA

More than two hundred Palestinians were forcibly displaced by the Israeli occupation from their homes in the village of Ein Samia, east of Ramallah in the West Bank, where they were forced by the escalation of settler terrorism and the repeated demolition of their tin homes by the occupation forces to leave the village, which is rich in antiquities and water and famous for growing cereals, thyme and citrus fruits, in a new repeat of the tragedy of the Palestinian Nakba, amid the silence of the international community that has been going on for 75 years on the crimes of ethnic cleansing committed by the occupation against the Palestinians.

The National Office for Land Defense and Settlement Resistance explained that the displacement of the residents of Ein Samia is part of a huge settlement plan, which aims to displace the people of more than 250 Palestinian villages and towns in the West Bank, especially those located in what is known as the East Jerusalem Gate on the lands of the towns of Anata, Isawiya and Al-Za'im to link the settlement bloc (Ma'ale Adumim) with the city of Jerusalem and expand from it to the Dead Sea, the northern Jordan Valley and the areas of Shafa Al-Ghor, that is, those overlooking the Jordan Valley in the mountain range and the eastern plateaus of the West Bank. Such as the village of al-Ma'arij between the cities of Ramallah, Jericho and Ein Samia in the slopes of Kafr Malik east of Ramallah and Khirbet Tana in the extension of the towns of Beit Furik and Beit Dajan in Nablus, as well as the villages of the Masafer Yatta area south of Hebron.

The Office pointed out that the Israeli occupation authorities have pursued a policy of deprivation of basic services such as water, electricity, the right to construction, housing, health, education and others, with the aim of emptying them of the Palestinian presence and establishing a new settlement reality based on the gradual annexation of the West Bank.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammad Shtayyeh stressed that the occupation authorities' displacement of the people of Ain Samia is a crime of ethnic cleansing that falls within a systematic policy to expand the settlements established on the lands of the village, and the rest of the Palestinian villages and towns that are now living under the weight of the mobile terrorism of the occupation forces and settlers, calling on the international community to stop the displacement plans that affect 250 villages and towns along the eastern slopes of the West Bank.

In a statement to SANA's correspondent, the head of the Commission to Resist the Wall and Settlements, Muayad Shaaban, explained that the occupation is waging a fierce war on Palestinian villages and towns, especially those located in strategic areas in Ramallah, the Jordan Valley, Jericho, Nablus, Salfit and Masafer Yatta in Hebron, with the aim of besieging Palestinian cities and separating them from each other with settlements and settlement roads, pointing out that the occupation carried out the crime of forced displacement in the village of Ain Samia in front of the world, which watches without taking any action to stop the occupation How does he live? Palestinians who came as refugees displaced from the territories occupied in 1948 have been subjected to a new Nakba in which they once again suffer the harshness of deprivation of land, shelter and livelihood.

Shaaban pointed out that the displacement of the village of Ain Samia, which is one of the richest villages with fresh water springs and wealth, is a full-fledged war crime, as it was preceded by brutal attacks by settlers on the people from shooting them to burning their homes, destroying their crops, stealing their livestock and besieging them, indicating that the occupation aims to besiege the Palestinian presence east of Ramallah and cut off the geographical contiguity
between Palestinian cities.

Shaaban warned that the residents of Al-Mughayyir village in Ramallah also face the risk of forced displacement, as the occupation forces have imposed a suffocating siege on the village for three weeks, preventing Palestinians from entering or leaving it in a new crime that continues to be committed against the Palestinian people.

For his part, the head of the Popular Committee to Resist Settlements and the Wall, Salah Al-Khawaja, stressed that the displacement of the residents of the village of Ain Samia is part of a systematic plan of occupation based on a policy of besieging the largest number of Palestinians in the least area of land in exchange for intensifying settlement and Judaization operations, with the aim of annexing 61 percent of the area of the Arab Bank and increasing the number of settlers, pointing out that this year recorded a significant increase in the demolitions of Palestinian homes and facilities because the occupation is racing against time to implement annexation plans gradually. The international community only condemns annexation, demolitions and displacement without practical measures that oblige the occupation to stop them.

Al-Khawaja stressed that the Palestinian people continue their steadfastness on their land and their adherence to it to thwart the occupation plans based on emptying the areas near the settlements of the Palestinian presence, to expand them continuously, especially in the Jordan Valley, Salfit, Nablus and south of Hebron.

For his part, the Secretary-General of the Palestinian National Initiative, Mustafa Barghouti, pointed out that what happened in the village of Ain Samia, and is currently happening in the village of Al-Mughayyir in Ramallah, is a war crime and ethnic cleansing, pointing out that the crimes of the occupation would not have happened without the silence of the international community, which stands by and watches them, and does not move a finger in front of the chapters of a new Nakba experienced by the Palestinian people, stressing at the same time that the Palestinians will continue to resist and defend their land and rights, regardless of the sacrifices.
