• Even if they are numerous, no French will be seeded.
  • Ugo Humbert, 24th in the world, is the highest ranked player among the French team.
  • Last year, the best French, Gilles Simon and Hugo Gaston, were beaten in the 3rd round.

As every year, they will be several French to want to shine at Roland-Garros. The twenty French representatives arrive with various ambitions but will be able to count on the support of Parisian supporters. In 2022, Gilles Simon and Hugo Gaston had reached the 3rd round, before falling. This is the risk for the French, who risk falling on a top seed in this round.

Once the qualifications are over, here are the different players to follow:

  • Ugo Humbert (24), 28th in the world

He has never made it past the first round of the tournament after being eliminated in 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022. It is the French number 1. Best result at Roland-Garros: 1st round (2019, 2020, 2021, 2022). He was taken out in the 3rd round in Australia and won in Cagliari and Primerose.

  • Adrian Mannarino (34), 47th in the world

He reached the second round of Roland Garros in 2, 2014 and 2016.

Nicknamed "Manna", he has won only one match in his last five on clay.

  • Richard Gasquet (36), 51st

The 2016 Roland Garros quarter-finalist is a regular at the tournament. A true example of longevity, he hopes to pull off a coup this year.

Winner in Auckland at the beginning of the year, he is in good shape and can hope to spend a few laps in 2023.

  • Grégoire Barrère (29 years old), 55th

Knocked out in the second round in 2019 at Roland Garros, he is currently at the top of the rankings since his debut.

He won the Quimper Challenger in January and beat world No. 12 Cameron Norrie in Miami.

  • Corentin Moutet (24), 61st

After reaching the 3rd round in 2019, he fell to Rafael Nadal in the 2nd round last year. He had surgery on his right wrist recently, before returning to the circuit.

  • Benjamin Bonzi (26), 65th (released in the 2nd round in 2017 and 2020).
  • Constant Lestienne (30 years old), 69th (first appearance)

  • Quentin Halys (26), 87th (out in the 2nd round in 2016)
